Early in his career, Philip Koch as inspired by seeing Edward Hopper’s art to change from painting abstractions to working in a realist direction. Since 1983 he has had 15 residencies staying and working in Hopper’s Truro, MA studio. He is known both for his vividly colored landscape paintings and for his paintings of the interior of Hopper’s studio. 10th Annual 5K Labor Day Road Race

The race begins at Johnny Kelley Park, on the corner of Bass River and Bob Crowell Road in South Dennis and ends in Dennis Village at Carlton Hall on Old Bass River Road. Truro Treasures began in 1992 when several community members envisioned a fall weekend for children and adults to raise money to help save the Highland Lighthouse and to promote community pride and interest in Truro.  Held in mid-September, the event hosts events such as a pancake breakfast, arts & crafts show, flea market, kids events, antique appraisals, silent art auction and live art demonstrations, a road race and golf tournament among other things.
